Payment Terms and Autopay Authorization
Effective October 23, 2026
These terms explain how you pay ACME Creation Lab through the portal, how autopay works, and what happens to payments that fail or are refunded. They apply to rent, deposits, electricity, membership dues and any other invoice issued through the portal. Your agreement and your invoices still control the amounts and due dates.
Who you are paying
Every invoice names the company it is from. Online payments go to that company's own Stripe, PayPal or bank account, not to a shared account. The companies are:
- ACME Creation Lab LLC (ACME Labs), South Riverfront Boulevard, Dallas, TX 75207
- ACME Studios Dallas LLC (ACME Studios), 1228 Rock Island Street, Dallas, TX 75207
Ways to pay
Which of these you see depends on what the company you pay has set up.
- Card and bank payments (Stripe). You are sent to a secure Stripe checkout page. Depending on what is switched on, you may be able to pay by card, bank debit, Link, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Cash App. Checkout may offer to save your payment method for next time.
- PayPal and Venmo. You pay in a PayPal window, with your PayPal balance, bank, card or, where PayPal offers it, Venmo.
- Zelle. Zelle is run by your bank, not by us. You send the money from your bank to the Zelle address shown, put the memo we show, and then press I sent it. The payment stays "Says sent" until we see the money arrive and mark the invoice paid.
- Payments we record by hand. If you pay by another method, staff record the payment and the invoice shows it.
We never see or store your full card number, card security code or bank login. Stripe and PayPal handle those under their own terms and privacy policies. We keep only what we need to run your account: the provider's reference numbers, the type of payment method and its last four digits.
Fees
The portal does not add a charge for paying online. Your bank, card issuer, Zelle or PayPal may have their own fees, limits or foreign-currency charges, and those are between you and them. Any late fee that applies is the one in your agreement and on your invoice.
When a payment counts
- Card and wallet payments count when the provider confirms them.
- Bank debits (ACH) can take several business days. The invoice shows as clearing until the bank confirms, and the payment can still be returned.
- Zelle counts when we confirm that the money arrived.
A payment that is returned, reversed, disputed or never completes does not pay the invoice. The amount stays owing and any late fee that applies under your agreement can apply.
How payments are applied
A payment you aim at a particular invoice pays that invoice. Other payments we record are applied to your oldest unpaid invoice first. If you pay more than an invoice owes, the extra goes to your next oldest invoices.
Autopay
Autopay is optional. You turn it on yourself in the portal (not by us), by saving a card, a bank account, PayPal or Venmo.
Your authorization. By turning on autopay you authorize the company you pay to charge, or to debit through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system, the payment method you saved, for each invoice that has come due and is unpaid, for the amount then owed on that invoice. That can include rent, electricity, fees and other invoices, and the amounts can differ from month to month. You authorize each charge or debit without further approval from you.
When it runs. Autopay runs once a day, in the morning Central Time. It charges every invoice whose due date has arrived and that you have not already paid or started to pay.
If a charge fails. We try once a day for up to three days. Each failure is emailed to you with the reason and a link to the portal. After the third failure autopay is paused until you set it up again, and the invoice stays due. You remain responsible for paying it by another method, and the late-fee terms of your agreement apply.
Stopping autopay. You can turn autopay off or change your payment method at any time in the portal's Rent section, or by writing to contact@acmecreationlab.org. Turning it off takes effect straight away for any charge that has not yet been started, and it removes your saved method from our account with the provider. A charge that has already been started cannot be stopped. Your authorization stays in effect until you cancel it.
Bank debits. If you save a bank account, you authorize us to initiate debit entries to it, and, if we make a mistake, credit entries to correct it. If a debit is returned, we may try it again as these terms allow. You must keep enough money in the account. Your bank can have its own rules about debits.
PayPal and Venmo. If you enroll with PayPal or Venmo, you authorize charges to that account on the same terms. You can also withdraw the permission in your PayPal or Venmo account settings.
Refunds and reversals
If we reverse a payment that was made online (for example because it was recorded in error), the full amount is refunded to the original payment method through the provider before our records change. How long the money takes to reach you depends on your bank or card issuer. A refunded payment cannot be restored. Online payments are otherwise refundable only as your agreement allows or the law requires. A refund at Zelle is a matter between you and us and your bank.
Disputes and chargebacks
If you think a charge is wrong, please contact us first at contact@acmecreationlab.org and we will look at it promptly. You remain responsible for amounts you truly owe even if a payment is disputed or charged back, and a dispute does not stop your agreement's terms from applying.
Contractor payouts
If you are paid for work, we can pay you by PayPal or by Zelle from the company's account, to the PayPal email or Zelle address you give us. Please keep it correct. We are not responsible for money sent to an address you gave us that was wrong. You are responsible for your own taxes. We keep the documents the law requires (such as a W-9) and use them for tax reporting.
Receipts and records
Your invoices, receipts and payment history are in the portal. Please check them and tell us about anything that looks wrong.
Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date shows when they last changed. A change does not affect an autopay authorization you have already given, except that continuing to use autopay means you accept the updated terms. If a change materially affects autopay, we will tell you first through the portal or by email.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and ACH debits are also subject to the rules of the National Automated Clearing House Association. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts in Dallas County, Texas.
